Christmas' arnd the corner!

Hmm. I think I'll probably blog a short entry. Haha. Finally. Pheww..
Christmas is really really just around the corner. Its like 5 more days. Wow! I'm so looking foward to it.. Well. I think that people of this generation really has been blinded and are totally clueless about the purpose behind this festive season. Erm. Ever heard people say, "Merry X'mas", "Season's greeting"? What do they mean? Haha. Think. People, can replace Christ's name with "X", and what season's greeting? And its not only people calling different names for this joyous occasion. What about Santa? Reindeers? Hmmm. Christmas trees? Presents? Why has the world replaced Christ with these things? The real purpose, the true meaning behind Christmas is because our dear Lord Jesus Christ was born on this day 2004 years ago. He came from glory to a lowly manger, to suffer and die from us sinners on the cross. Does it summarise it all? God coming as flesh to die for His creation. How great this love and sacrifice for us? To be replaced by His creation, with santa, christmas trees, jingle bells? This world's got it all wrong. TO think shopping malls even use this "festive season" as a time to earn from shoppers. Yes, there is nothing wrong with buying presents. Christmas is, a season of giving too. But when exchanging of presents take priority over observing this day to the Lord, than it shouldnt be that way.
Romans 14:6
He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord.
A verse quite interesting to ponder over as we gear up for Christmas. Let us all remember the true meaning behind this joyous occasion, and truly yearn to praise and worship Christ for coming from glory to suffer and die for our sins!
