I'll Run This Race

Wednesday, March 9
The date is set
The time has come
The witnesses arrived
The course is marked
The man prepare
The weight are set aside
Positions are assumed and taken
Energy's now reawaken
Empty thoughts are all forsaken
I must win the prize!

I'll run this race with patience
I'll run this race with joy :)
I'll fix, my eyes on Jesus face
The One who saved me by His matchless grace

My course is set
My God designed it
All for His great cause
I will not live for selfish gain
Or die for man's applause
My Savior love my passion keep
His every blessed word I'll cling
To Him, His every wish I'll bring
Till Jesus calls me home

I'll run this race with patience
I'll run this race with joy :)
And fix my eyes on Jesus face
The One who saved me by His matchless grace

I have the great provision
The Lord is all I need
He has already won the victory
From sin I have been freed
O Lord I must be faithful
In every word and in deed!

I'll run this race with patience
I'll run this race with joy :)
I'll fix my eyes on Jesus face
The One who saved me by His matchless grace

The One who ran before me
The One who set the course
The One who saved me by His matchless grace

The One who saved me by, His grace!

Indeed, I will run both the phyiscal race and the spiritual race with patience and with joy. When ask which race I should be focused on, which I will give my priority to, the answer is obvious- the spiritual race, of pressing upwards and onwards! However, being a runner gives me a direct view of what a spiritual race can be like and the moments of glory after a victorious race is ran. I am looking foward to the day when my race on earth has ended, and my Savior crowning me with the Victor's crown.

My physical race is coming. The Nationals Inter-school X-Country 2005 is but 36 more days away and the everyone's just getting excited and tensed up. I feel that everyone is indeed putting their heart, mind and soul into the training, for that race. Well, without compromise on my spiritual race, I will be striving for this one month to be training my hardest. Wow, I think its quite some time before that I said this. So, I'm really going for it, also praying to be kept focused on giving my Lord the glory. Claiming that I am not nervous or feeling very optimistic about the race would be lying, but saying that I am confident of doing well for God will not be too big a task. Simply going in with the right focus, giving my all- heart, mind, soul and strenght- into that race for the glory of the Lord. Though I'm anxious and tensed for the team, the stiff and intense competition to be surfaced, I'm just taking a step back and trying to see the big picture- God is in control. No matter what the result may be, let God's will be done and God be given the glory as He wishes.

Hwa Chong Institution:

[A Boys]
There is still chance for fighting for the championship. With Jeff, Colin, Jinghao, Chinmian, Siangloong, I say there might still be chance of claiming the A div title. Well, anything can happen on that day. I feel that tough competitors are mainly RJC and ACJC.

[A Girls]
Likelyhood of claiming championship is high, if Yann Nee and Calista stays in HCI(Two best runners). Well, I think they are training hard lah. For girls.. But it really depends on the two runners and whether they stay or go. Tough rivals include RJC and ACJC.

[C Boys]
Unlikelyhood higher. Tough and really difficult competition from VS and Cat High, maybe even ACS[I]. Hopes on them are literally shattered from the recent Swift race. However, I think they are just going in there and doing their best. No matter what the results may be.

[B Boys]
And now to my division. Suprisingly, runners are mainly made up of sec 3 pupils. That means that if we cling the championship this year, the likelyhood of claiming it the next would be much higher. Tough fight with VS, and ACS[I]. And also Huayi individual runners. Going to be quite a dramatic race. Lots of pacing, following, tactics, strategies to be displayed. I should say its a 50-50 fight with the Victoria School. I would be aiming for top 6 this year. Giving my best shot this yr. Though really oblivious of what individual prowess there are in the arena. Havent been training on the race terrain, and missing major competitions leading to the Nationals. However, feel that we still have what it takes for a fight. Totally unpredictable division. We may be shocked, we may be surpised. Lets just be contented with doing our best yea? May the best man win, and the man whom God delights in! May glory be given to Him, who deserves it all.

And now to the part where many have been waiting for:

HAhaha. Will I be shaving my head?

I seriously dunnno yet. Have to wait for coach to say. Cause if sun is blazing den maybe not, just cut short. And, its abit too early to decide. But if needed, I think I will. (=

Anyways, here are the details. Can come and "peng chang", translating to support (:

D-day
13 April
