Jesus Paid It All.
I hear the Savior say,
"Thy strength indeed is small!
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all."
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain-
He washed it white as snow.
For nothing good have I
Whereby Thy grace to claim-
I'll wash my garments white
In the blood of Calvary's Lamb.
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain-
He washed it white as snow.
And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
"Jesus died my soul to save,"
My lips shall still repeat.
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain-
He washed it white as snow.
This entry is specially dedicated to my Lord, in remembrance of what He did 2000 years ago on the cross of Calvary.
Lest we forget Gethsamane, lest we forget Thine agony, lest we forget Thy love for us, lead us to Calvary!
King of my life I crown Thee now-
Thine shall the glory be;
Lest I forget Thy thorn-crowned brow,
Lead me to Calvary.
Lest I forget Gethsamane;
Lest I forget Thine agony;
Lest I forget Thy love for me,
Lead me to Calvary
May I be willing, Lord, to bear
Daily my cross for Thee,
Even Thy cup of grief to share-
Thou has borne all for me.
Lest I forget Gethsamane;
Lest I forget Thine agony;
Lest I forget Thy love for me,
Lead me to Calvary
May these words be meditation of our hearts as we prepare ourselves and remember our dear Savior's death on the tree for our sins. "May I be willing, Lord, to bear, Daily my cross for Thee" Lest I forget.. Lead Me to Calvary.
I stumbled upon these beautiful, tho old, songs when I discovered hidden treasures of cassette tapes of music left behind by my uncle keen. These songs came from one cassette, Near the Cross. I somehow feel that these hymnals, though may seem so old and classic, and may not appeal as much to us as the newer songs by The Wilds, Soundforth Singers, bear much much precious truths in them and are sweet meditations of my heart. I remembered I heard this song called, "Take the World, But Give Me Jesus", it was really good. These cassette I brought back from my grandfather's house and I remembered I used to listen to them when I was younger. Then, I didnt understand the words to the songs, except the tunes and melody was pretty much stuck to my head. And when I heard them once again, I was refresed by these songs, really, and I felt so blessed.
I pretty much set into my contemplative mood after the journey from my cousin's house to training. And seriously I wasnt aware that the next day was Good Friday until the journey on the way home. From my previous entry, one can really see how much I was distracted and caught up in my own worries, (studies, running[races]) and other distractions. I was anything but prepared to meditate on Christ's love for me if I look back on my past week. And really, without God being merciful and pouring out His grace upon me, I would not be here blogging this entry, sharing what I have meditated on, sharing my personal reflections, but simply mugging away and rushing my MRP. When I remembered Christ's death on the cross, I simply told myself, "Christ didn't give His life for me, and allow me to waste my life away on my own desires and concerns." And I immediately make right with the Lord, I realised that my concerns and desires are but nothing when I compare it to what my Lord went through for me. From that surrender of my life back to Jesus, my day has become brighter and really more contemplative. Yeah. I found seek ye first the kingdom of God then His righteousness, and all these things shall be added onto you very true. I shan't bother myself with many other things and get myself all worried and strain my relationship with God, rather I should seek to stay close to God and draw nearer to Him, knowing that if I seek Him, all things will fall into place. And the past few days, being so distracted, might just be another subtle way to distract me from doing my Lord's will I found out. I have simply neglected doing my will when I become concerned with my own. Seek ye first the kingdom of God, then His righteousness. And all these things shall be added unto you.
God's love reached out to me,
One day on Calvary
When I was lost in sin and shame
He pardoned all my sin
And now He lives within
O blessed love of God
So rich and free
His love,
Is broader than any ocean
And it is deeper than any sea
The love of Jesus took Him to Calvary
To suffer there for you and me
Oh how He suffered, for You and ME!
If That Isn't Love
He left the splendor of heaven
Knowing His destiny
Was the lonely hill of Golgotha
There to lay down His life for me
If that isnt love,
The ocean is dry.
There's no stars in the sky
The sparrow can't fly
If that isnt love,
Then heaven's a myth
There's no feeling like this
If that isnt love.
Even in death He remembered
The thief hanging by His side
He spoke with love and compassion
Then He took Him to paradise
If that isnt love,
The ocean is dry.
There's no stars in the sky
The sparrow can't fly
If that isnt love,
Then heaven's a myth
There's no feeling like this
If that isnt love.
Oh, if we could remember, that it was this night 2000 years ago when Jesus ate His last supper with His disciples. May we remember what our Savior said. Breaking bread and giving it as His body, and drinking the cup as His blood, may we remember that Christ offered Himself up for us, both His body and His blood so that in His stripes we are heal and He would be bruised for our transgression. Isaiah 53. I think its most appropiate that we study Isaiah 53 about our Savior on the day we remember how our Savior went through Calvary.
Isaiah 53
The Sin-Bearing Messiah
1 Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed? 2For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him. 3He is despised and rejected by men, A Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. 4Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. 5But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. 6All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all. 7He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. 8He was taken from prison and from judgment, And who will declare His generation? For He was cut off from the land of the living; For the transgressions of My people He was stricken. 9And they made His grave with the wicked-- But with the rich at His death, Because He had done no violence, Nor was any deceit in His mouth. 10Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in His hand. 11He shall see the labor of His soul,and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify many, For He shall bear their iniquities. 12Therefore I will divide Him a portion with the great, And He shall divide the spoil with the strong, Because He poured out His soul unto death, And He was numbered with the transgressors, And He bore the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.
Surely He has borne our griefs, And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. 5But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, In His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.7He was oppressed and He was afflicted, Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth.
Yet, He opened not His mouth. Wow. Indeed, Jesus opened not His mouth except for His last seven cries on the cross. He, our Savior, bore our sins silently.
How have we grieved our Lord and pained Him with our sins..
When I begin to contemplate on what Christ did, its really so uncomprehensible.. How can a Prince of Glory give up heaven's splendor in exchange for earth's humiliation, suffering and even death? Whats more, for His enemies. For yet when we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Isaiah 53 IS such a beautiful passage on our sin-bearing Messiah. We can never fully understand why Christ was willing to do all these, except, it was because His love. "If that isn't love, .... " What Christ went through, who can go through? I realised that if we bring this in comparison with our concerns, alas, what is man's concerns to what Christ has been through. If Christ did that, what less can we do? Are we greater than our Master?
Christmas is the day when Christ was born. Good Friday, often neglected, IS the day of atonement and redemption. Easter, the day of Victory. Christmas gave hope. Good Friday fulfilled it. Easter, represents victory.
At this time, 11pm, I think 2000years ago our Lord was in Gethsamane praying and pleading with sweat as blood falling off his brow. Christ modelled and was willing to pray, "Not my will but Thine" to surrender to His Father's will, so have we to model in His example. And what was Christ's instruction to His disciples? Watch and pray, lest ye enter into temptation. I remembered a year ago, [when I was botak, heh] we were in church praying through the night. It was a continuous on-going prayer meeting in which prayer requests were laid and being prayed for. How I miss it this year. Nonetheless, let me heed my Savior's instruction to "watch" and to "pray" lest I fall into temptation. Yea, the Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. I feel that we should review our Lord's struggle in prayer and see how He prayed for surrender, His disciples, and for all His followers.
John 17
Jesus Prays for Himself
Jesus Prays to God for His Disciples
1 Jesus spoke these words, lifted up His eyes to heaven, and said: "Father, the hour has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son also may glorify You, 2as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should[a] give eternal life to as many as You have given Him. 3And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. 4I have glorified You on the earth. I have finished the work which You have given Me to do. 5And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
Jesus Prays for His Disciples
6"I have manifested Your name to the men whom You have given Me out of the world. They were Yours, You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your word. 7Now they have known that all things which You have given Me are from You. 8For I have given to them the words which You have given Me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You sent Me.
9"I pray for them. I do not pray for the world but for those whom You have given Me, for they are Yours. 10And all Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine, and I am glorified in them. 11Now I am no longer in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to You. Holy Father, keep through Your name those whom You have given Me,[b] that they may be one as We are. 12While I was with them in the world,[c] I kept them in Your name. Those whom You gave Me I have kept;[d] and none of them is lost except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. 13But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. 14I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 15I do not pray that You should take them out of the world, but that You should keep them from the evil one. 16They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. 17Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth. 18As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. 19And for their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified by the truth.
Jesus Prays for All Believers
20"I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who will[e] believe in Me through their word; 21that they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. 22And the glory which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are one: 23I in them, and You in Me; that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.
24"Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world. 25O righteous Father! The world has not known You, but I have known You; and these have known that You sent Me. 26And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare it, that the love with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them."
Awaiting the long-awaited, glorious weekend! (=
