Ressurection Sunday !
Sunday, March 27
Christ the Lord, is risen today, Ha-lle-lujah!Its such a great and wonderful feeling, to sing of a living Lord and Savior. Easter really reminds me of the Victory Jesus has won for us, defeating sin and death.
Well, today's easter service was really blessed. I love the singing, thank you choir! Of which many songs really really spoke to my heart. I love "O Teach Me What It Meaneth" and "Not a Word Did He Speak". (Later den I type out) Pastor's message was really comforting, needless to say powerful. Thank God for speaking through Him. I love the way Pastor spoke about how Jesus asked to lovingly and was to patient in listen to us pour out our cares and sorrows. I am so blessed and thankful to know that Jesus is with me anywhere, everywhere. Whether I recognize Him in my ways or not, He is still there. And will be there when I am in His will, and will be there to correct me when I am not. I realised that we take the priviledge of praying and reading God's Word so lightly, hence the lack of sincerity and earnest in our prayer. Have we ever considered what joy it is just to be able to communicate with the Most High God? Sometimes when you feel a sense of delight and happiness when you get a chance to talk to a loved one. Why isnt that feeling much much more greater to our first Love? Our loving God? I have really taken for granted this special priviledge to speak to God, imagine, the Creator of all things! And His word should we treat with much care, reverance and joy if we could understand fully God's part in Its revelation, and not only that, how God preserved it for US since the beginning of time. Thinking of it, a letter from a loved one would never cause us to be tired of reading, but even reading daily may not seem to be a problem. However, what about God's Holy word and revelation to us? Need we not say, that we should never ever neglect it but thirst and seek to read it every single moment we are free? How have we short-changed God! Well, these are some thoughts.
I really prayed for this weekend to be one that will refresh me, restore my soul and revive me in God's way. Shouldnt we thank God that we have this good time to reflection and rest in a midst of a long school semester? Well, I thank God, for His goodness in timing. To rest my weary and lerthargic physical body and most importantly a spiritual being which has groaned to the lack of passion and drying up for a thirst that has not been satisfied and a hunger that has not been met. And I believe prayer with faith, will be answer. Indeed, God has been good throughout this weekend. I shant say that I have really spent the entire weekend wholly in the Lord, but it was a good physical rest, many times to just be still and meditate on God and my responses to Him, and being fed to a "buffet" of God's Word today, and also just to return to the house of God to worship, to fellowship has already been sweet to my soul. Thank You Lord!
Sunday school was really good, we skipped the lesson on occults because yes, its rather weird to be teaching on satan's religions on a joyous day as ressurection sunday. Thanks Daniel for such discernment. We went thru Luke 22 together, and really just from one chapter, there is so much to learn about life, so much to learn about our Savior and His love. Anw it is indeed as daniel says, that it cannot be mere conincidental that Christ's crucifixion falls on the Passover. Feast of Unleaven Bread is to remember God's deliverance of the children of Israel from the Egyptians. And so is the Lord's supper to remember Christ's death as the delieverance of us from the bondage of sin. As Daniel shared with us about Luke 22 and its events, about how Christ was speaking of His betrayal, death on the cross and ressurection, the disciples missed the whole point and was discussion who was greatest amongst them. However, it really shows how Christ was ever patient and ready to correct His children with love, instead of outrightly rebuking them. Christ does the same to us even now! Anw Daniel was sharing about how in the army you can be pumped for no reason and how the immense sense of unfairness is so great. Well, really I think that in life all of us are bound to go through times when we will be so unjustly treated, but let us, as christians consider one thing: what Jesus did? Not a word did He speak to defend Himself, not a whisper to set Himself free. Let us learn to suffer injustly knowing that our God went through the same before, and let us model in His perfect example!
Well, school starts again after a good and refreshing weekend. I really thank God I am spiritually and physically refreshed, after really being so lerthargic in my spiritual being. But no I pray I am all ready to go back to school, and do God's will. Seriously, I dread school alot alot. I do not even wish to return at all. With all the work, training, teachers, I mean if I had a choice I would definitely wish to simply fly away from these cares. But I will always remember what God calls me to do, do it heartily as to God and not as to men. I think thru prayer meeting, the thing I've learnt is before we do anything we must get our motives and purposes right. If we seek to do for God's glory, everything really will be right and correct and pleasing in the sight of our Lord. But if we seek personal gain, fame or fortune, then we find ourselves troubled, stressed, depressed, worried and uncomfortable. SO let us all refocus our purpose and motive behind studying. I pray we are able to transcend this thought that studying is unnecessary and dumb, as much as I need to learn, but I believe if we seek to glorify our Lord, we will do our best rite? Study hard kay? Keep each and everyone accountable, I really pray nott to slack but really give all I have to studying FOR the Lord.
I'll like to share a little song which I found out from the cassettes I dug out, its title is The Old Fashioned Way. I find the lyrics are very meaningful. We as youths, sometimes seek to follow trends and fashions, I mean, really, if we begin to think we are really old-fashioned and why choose to compromise and follow and seek, not to be old-fashioned. AYe, just a thought.
They call me old-fashioned because I believe
That the Bible is God’s holy Word,That Jesus,
Who lived among men long ago,
Is divine, and the Christ of God.
My sin was old-fashioned,
My guilt was old-fashioned,
God’s love was old-fashioned, I know;
And the way I was saved was the old-fashioned way,
Through the blood that makes whiter than snow.
Old-fashioned, because I believe and accept
Only what has been spoken from Heav’n;
Old-fashioned because at the cross I was saved,
At the cross had my sins forgiv’n.
My sin was old-fashioned,
My guilt was old-fashioned,
God’s love was old-fashioned, I know;
And the way I was saved was the old-fashioned way,
Through the blood that makes whiter than snow.
Old-fashioned, because I am bound to do right,
My guilt was old-fashioned,
God’s love was old-fashioned, I know;
And the way I was saved was the old-fashioned way,
Through the blood that makes whiter than snow.
Old-fashioned, because I am bound to do right,
To walk in the straight narrow way;
Because I have given my whole life to God,
Old-fashioned because I pray.
My sin was old-fashioned,
My guilt was old-fashioned,
God’s love was old-fashioned, I know;
And the way I was saved was the old-fashioned way,
Through the blood that makes whiter than snow.
My guilt was old-fashioned,
God’s love was old-fashioned, I know;
And the way I was saved was the old-fashioned way,
Through the blood that makes whiter than snow.
And the way I was saved, was the old fashioned way, through the blood that makes whiter than snow!
