Mother's Day

Sunday, May 8
A tribute to my Mom:

For who I am
I thank you, Mom.

For anxious hearts
To recieve the news
And excited minds
In giving my name
I thank you, Mom.

For the suffering pain
In bearing my load
And the vomits and thumping
Caused by my noisy ways
I thank you, Mom.

For the joy shed tears
At the sound of my cry
And the sweet delight
When you glimpse a sight
I thank you, Mom.

For the restless nights
In hearing my cry
And the days and nights
Of feeding through thine
I thank you, Mom

For rejoicing to hear:
"Mama", "Papa"
And the jumps and cheers
When I walked my first
I thank you, Mom.

For bed time stories
With lullabys
And the pats on my back
That saw me slept
I thank you, Mom.

For the first day jitters
When I'm in school
And rushing down
At the slightest fall
I thank you, Mom.

For the patient teachings
When exams draw near
And the nightless markings
On my cross-filled papers
I thank you, Mom.

For the constant naggings
That left me sulking
And that wodden cane,
Which brought me pain
I thank you, mom.

For the washing and cleaning
And household cookings
And the toliet washings
And marble floor mopping
I thank you, mom

For the late nights
To clear the chores
And the early wakings
With the morning school calls
I thank you, mom.

For the weepings and sorrows
At our stuborn ways
And the worries and cares
When we've gone astray
I thank you, mom.

For content with simple
That taught us to save
And the groaning stomach
To feed our hunger.
I thank you, mom.

For the hardship pains
On your poor strained body
And the harsh labour
That made me sorry
I thank you, mom.

For the future is mine [to study]
You always sigh
And I'll work much harder
For you I'll try
I thank you, mom.

For the quiet faith
In our God's dear grace
And the silent prayers
Unto Him were laid
I thank you, Mom.

For being God's blessing
Into my life
And showing the love
Of my Lord, Jesus Christ
I thank you, mom.

For here I stand
Whoever I am
And without you
I'm without end.
I thank you, Mom.

For someday we'll see
Our Risen Savior
And singing praises
I'll share my treasure, [saying,]
"I thank you, mom"
