Lord send me anywhere!
Saturday, November 18
There's really so much that has been going on in my mind these days. Too much to pen it down in words. But the Lord has been good, He has been wonderful. My faithful Guide!Psalms 40
I waited patiently for the LORD;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the LORD.
God has opened up my heart and eyes to see many many things. What I need, perhaps, is a more yielded and surrendered life before Him whom I wholly belong to- to be willing to lay down my life for Him as men of faith has done so before me. That nothing else matters, except Christ and His glory- not pride, not the flesh, not the world, not families, not friends- but Him and His will alone. To sing with conviction, "I give my heart to You, my dear Master. Not just a part, for you my dear King". I know fully well God deserves much much more than what we are willing to give Him now- if only, we would give Him what He deserves, and much more. We want an entirely changed life for God- the death to self by being "fools for Christ" and power of God in life that is "hid with Christ in God", and that being the continual state we abide in, until Christ comes to take us home.
Haha, I know the points don't link. But reflections after these few days, being challenged by God through a view of what missionary life on Doulos is, and by biographies of faithful men who stepped out in faith and trusted God entirely for their lives. The life of Dr David Livingstone and of Ed McCully, Rodger Youderian, Nate Saint, Pete Fleming and Jim Elliot has really challenged me about how men who trusted God by stepping out into the unknowns, saw Providence and experienced and saw the glory of God in their lives. This poses a question: Comfort or the Power of God. Which would we choose?
I only have one life, And that will soon be past;
I want my life to count for Christ, What's done for Him will last.
Lord, send me anywhere, Only go with me;
Lay any burdern on me, Only sustain me.
Sever any tie, Save the tie that binds me to Thy heart-
Lord Jesus, my King, I consecrate my life, Lord to Thee
"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose."- Jim Elliot
