Colossians 1:9-12 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness; Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:Aye, the Lord has encouraged my heart tremendously through this passage of scripture the past few days. Its a crucial thing to be filled with the knowledge of His will, because unless we know His will, what shall we do? James 4 tells us, instead we ought to say, "If the Lord wills, we shall live to do this or do that" I pray for much discernment and wisdom to understand God's will for my life in areas such as my studies, relationships and service, and I ask for faith to say, "Not my will but Thine be done" when its revealed. Think it has been a great blessing to see and understand these things, and when to be tried, even a greater blessing to overcome them in faith, having these precious promises, from Jeremiah 29:11 and Romans 8:28.
As I move on to the year 2007, I am full of resolutions and full of zeal to do the will of God. But I know as much as I am consumed with His will now, I can be consumed with my will as I go deeper into the next year. A verse that blessed my heart was this:
Deuteronomy 31:8 And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.
This I used to encourage benji as he departs for the states to study, this I also use to encourage youths journeying back into the world with full of unknowns. There is so much to share about my fears, my burdens and my excitement. However, shall keep this entry short and, sweet. (: Keep each other in prayer, pray that we will be kept by the power of God in the year ahead.
