Friday, June 1
Its FRIDAY! Lols. Not that there is any difference for a friday during the holidays. Just that friday is good :D Haha. It means three days more before the june camp? (: It means 3 more weeks of holidays? (: It means someone's camp has jus ended? (: And it means a full day rest at home today! (:ANW, there is another meeting tomorrow on the "Charismatic and Grace Movement". Hmm, I feel its gonna be interesting, uh, more so to see what God says about such a movement from His word. Aye. I really hope you will come, though I know you may feel a lil uncomfortable about it. Hmm, whatever your decision is, just want you to know that I've been praying for you! (:
Haha, 1/4 of the holidays are gone and, I would say I didnt really regret the way I spent it, though I am certain I didnt get any/much work done! I got my guitar! :D Lols. And I'm gonna learn to play it this hols. I think I'm gonna leave the last two weeks of the holidays to studying for the upcoming block tests. For now, I shall cast all these worries aside and focus on getting my "momentum" with God back above all else.
Ironically, just when I start to enjoy reading and praying this few days, my dad has to come hard on me again. Well, it isnt wrong for a man who doesnt understand what the Bible really is to say that I should become to extreme in reading the Bible i guess. But this week has taught me more about the Bible then any other week. It has become my conviction that the Bible ought to be my very authority in life and the very means I can get to know God. Extreme as this may sound, apart from the Bible nothing else stands the test of time! Hmm, go figure! So how can I spend less time on it jus because dad says no. Aye, but its more difficult then it seems, because I don't want him to think that I am too narrow-minded. Let's move on.. and trust the faithfulness of God to work things out.
The two messages yesterday were quite encouraging.
Dr David Innes hit it right on the nail when he said that a fundementalist who does not love God or trust God is the most miserable creature. If we do not love God, there is no purpose in service. And if we do not trust God, there would be no desire to obey His word if it seems too impossible or difficult (i.e. be ye not unequally yoked with unbelievers). A Christian who loves God, serves God. Righto? And a Christian who trusts God, obeys God. Amen!
Dr Stephen Jones shared on ministry, being a cause and not a competition. Think its so true that christians have become so carnal by competing and comparing oneself with another to the point of perfect resemblance to the "dog-eat-dog" world out there. We need to show so much more love as well as humility in the cause of Christ. The reason we live is because of the cause, not because we want to make a name for ourselves whatsover. "A man of God has a circumscribed view of his responsibility". It is reflected when the Lord Jesus told Peter in John 21, "if I will that he remains till I come, what is that to you. you follow me" If christians (refering to myself) have such an attitude of following Christ all the way, doing what He commands and delights, there is no need to look elsewhere and at other people. Rem, God never calls us to success, but to faithfulness to His word!
Okay, to end this post, I'll quote a verse in Psalms. The book of Psalms encourages its readers with a recurring theme: "Blessed is the man who trusts in Him"
Psalms 18:30
As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the LORD is proven. He is a shield to all who trust in Him
